Our culture seems to be increasingly defined by sharper elbows or sharper edges or sharper tongues. The Winsome Conviction Academy will help Christians counter that trend as they learn to model rigorous and healthy discourse around crucial issues. We can reclaim a winsome gospel witness to a broken world all the while maintaining our deeply held Christian convictions.

Now more than ever, we need our Christian friends, colleagues and neighbors to reach into their deep well of resources - rooted in a commitment to love and humility to inspire a transformative approach to bridge building. At a moment when our culture rewards outrage and division, these practices are urgently needed. Biola’s Winsome Conviction Academy is helping reclaim this approach by forming Christian leaders who can engage hard conversations without compromising either conviction or compassion.

In this cultural moment, few testimonies to Christ’s love, grace, and mercy are more powerful than our ability and motivation to listen to others. The Winsome Conviction Academy equips leaders with the scholarship, skills, and spiritual posture needed to do just that—becoming salt and light to heal relationships in our homes, churches, and local and global communities.

There are few tasks more daunting and more needed in our contemporary society than cultivating Christians and citizens capable of virtue-guided civic discourse. I applaud the Winsome Conviction Project for taking on this task with intentionality and integrity.
