Biola University’s Crowell School of Business is thrilled to announce a new dual certification program through a new partnership with Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) and the American Marketing Association (AMA). This partnership offers Biola students, alumni and friends access to certifications in digital marketing from two of the most prestigious globally-recognized industries.

“Upskilling in digital marketing isn’t just about getting or keeping a job — it’s about learning to connect, create, and communicate in ways that truly make an impact,” said Dr. Rachel Bodell, associate professor of marketing management.

With courses hosted fully online in an asynchronous format, participants at any point in their career will have access to courses in artificial intelligence (AI), Google Ads, analytics, Facebook Ads, content marketing, search engine optimization (SEO) and more. Enrolled students also have the opportunity to take relevant micro-courses to fill a knowledge gap for a lower rate or get two full certifications for the price of one, plus a community of fellow learners and continued education. The first ten certification subscribers will receive a complimentary 30-minute Zoom consultation with Bodell to help elevate their brand or optimize a digital marketing campaign.

“This partnership reflects Biola’s commitment to preparing students and alumni with relevant, forward-looking skills grounded in excellence and integrity. Participants will gain practical tools, global credentials and strategic insights shaped by best practices in the field,” said Bodell.

Many students who took DMI courses attest to their effectiveness. According to a 2022 DMI survey, 84% of certification students and graduates said the certification added practical digital marketing experience to their career journey. As reported by DMI alumni in a 2024 survey, 74% of graduates reported a salary increase, and 44% were promoted within 12 months of receiving the certification. Not only do the students speak to its results, but 87% of employers globally say that they are more likely to hire candidates with a DMI Certification on their CV, according to the DMI Chief Marketing Officer Survey 2024.

The course combines the Digital Marketing Pro credential with the Professional Certified Marketer designation into one comprehensive, dual online program. While the standard retail price for this program is $5,310, Biola is able to offer students and alumni an exclusive discounted rate of $2,060 through its partnership, representing a savings of nearly 40% on this premier professional certification. In addition, students of the program will have access to a range of other professional certifications and short courses at exclusive discounted rates, including artificial intelligence, digital marketing, content marketing, email marketing, e-commerce, search engine optimization, paid search (PPC) using Google Ads, YouTube and display advertising, customer experience and marketing data analytics.

Students who register for the certification will receive free DMI membership and dual certification from DMI and AMA — ranked No. 3 by U.S. News 360 Review.
