With every ticket available sold, alumni and friends spent a memorable evening together at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa on January 24, 2013, captivated by the Broadway production of "War Horse". Originally a children's novel about a boy and his horse during WW1, the critically-acclaimed 2011 Spielberg movie became a Tony Award winning musical the same year. Biola alumni, families and friends enjoyed an authentic Italian pre-show reception at Antonello's near the theatre, following by the breathtaking performance. Attendees were drawn into the story of a family pulled apart by poverty and emotional troubles--but eventually reconnecting due to a stunning turn of events involving the family horse. Artistically-designed life-size horse sculptures manipulated by actors to appear as real thoroughbreds made "War Horse" a memorable experience for all.
